Creative Project

Excited children from 5 winning schools descended on the Ulster Museum, Belfast for the grand finale prize giving ceremony of the Lidl Fit Factor on Friday, 20th May.  The finale marked a nail-biting end to the primary school competition, which is aimed at Primary 3 and 4 classes to promote healthy eating and physical activity.

The competition asked schools to submit creative projects expressing what they had learned during the course of the two-week, free, fun and educational initiative.

It was St Oliver Plunkett Primary School who took first place with their creative entry that amazed the celebrity judging panel made up of Joe McMahon from Tyrone GAA, freelance journalist Claire McCollum and Stephen Ferris from Ulster Rugby.  In addition to charming the illustrious judging panel, the inventive winning project evidently caught the eyes of the UCF and Lidl representatives, as well as those who cast their vote online through the Lidl Fit Factor website.

Judging for the competition was based on a combination of online votes (cast at www.fitfactor.co.uk) and the decision of the judges.  Garryduff clinched second place with Termoncanice hot on their heels in a very close third.
